EXTRA/SEARCH Evaluation Workshops

In collaboration with the Canadian Health Services Research Foundation (CHSRF), SEARCH held two workshops (Edmonton/July; Montreal/January) bringing together 10 researchers from across the country (from BC, AB, ON, NF), with 10 health service executives, evaluation consultants and program staff (from BC, AB, ON, QU) to explore possibilities to learn from joint research and evaluation on the SEARCH Classic and EXTRA programs. The workshop identified priority areas of focus and promising methodological approaches, including key elements of case study design, and explored interest in developing joint research proposals for submission to national granting councils.

SEARCH and CHSRF have since committed to a joint commissioned research project looking at organizational change related to the programs through six organizational case studies, four of which will involve organizations involved with SEARCH, to be conducted in 2008.
